Watch: Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog Tried to Hide Shabu During House Raid? (Video)

Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez tried to hide something that would looked like shabu while police was searching her house, Sunday morning, July 30. The act was caught on video, as obtained by GMA News, and first reported it via News To Go, Monday, hosted by Howie Severino and Kara David. Watch the cellphone video below.

As you can see, police operatives were searching inside a room of Vice Mayor Parojinog when suddenly she got something from her bag, and hide it in her right hand. Shortly, a policewoman who saw what she did immediately forced her open her hand to get the item. When she hesitated, another policewoman can be seen helping her companion.

The same cellphone video showed that the lady vice mayor was trying to hide a packet that contains a white substance. She was immediately handcuffed after the police got the item from her. She and her brother, Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. and six others were arrested by a joint police team, Sunday, at around 2:30 am, via a search warrant issued by the court.

As reported earlier, Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. (the vice mayor's father) and his wife, Susan were among the 15 people who were killed during the police operation. According to Misamis Occidental PPO chief Senior Superintendent Jaysen de Guzman, the raiding team was met by a volley of gunfire as they were about to enter the two houses.

Authorities noted that the simultaneous search warrants were only for illegal firearms and ammunition, and were surprised to recover more than 1 kilo of shabu inside the two houses. It can be recalled that President Rodrigo Duterte has mentioned the names of Mayor and Vice Mayor Parojinog in his list of politicians allegedly involved in illegal drugs.

In a short interview, Vice Mayor Parojinog denied her involvement in illegal drugs and said the police planted all the evidences against them, and begged to President Duterte as well. She and her brother Parojinog Jr. were flown to Manila, Monday, and are now detained at Camp Crame. Their lawyer, Atty. Lawrence Carin has questioned the decision.
