In a report by GMA News, a group of masked men forced to enter Turima's house and shot the victim. He was immediately brought to the nearest hospital, but was declared 'dead on arrival.' Turima is the brother-in-law of Bulacan massacre suspect Carmelino "Miling" Ibañes, who earlier admitted the crime and said they took shabu before the killings.
Last Tuesday morning, another 'person of interest' in the said heinous crime was found dead. The lifeless body of Ronaldo Pacinos, alyas Inggo, was seen in Barangay Sto. Cristo, with several wounds in the body and his four fingers were cut. Earlier, police invited both Turima and Pacinos for questioning, but were released due to lack of evidence.
When presented to the media, Ibañes admitted that he killed Aurora Dizon, 53; her 35-year old daughter Estrella, 35; and her three grandchildren ages 1, 5 and 11. He said he also raped the Aurora and Estrella after killing them. But in his sworn testimony, he mentioned remembering killing only one of the victim, and that he did not rape the women.
Last Friday, Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 3 director C/Supt. Aaron Aquino revealed that Ibañes was tested negative on his drug test. According to him, the suspect is only an occasional user of shabu, and that this might be the reason why his drug test resulted negative. Meanwhile, another 'person of interest' Alvin Mabesa is still missing.
But because of the killings of Turima and Pacinos, Pamela Buquid of CHR Central Luzon said that the agency is now worried that the two slain 'persons of interest' may have been victims of extra-judicial killings (EJKs). “We definitely condemn such acts. What did the police do after they found no evidence linking them to the crime?” She told reporters.
