US Police to Investigate VP Leni Robredo's Possible Violation, Driving With Expired Driver's License

The Cambridge Police Department in Massachusetts, USA is set to investigate a possible traffic violation committed by Vice President Leni Robredo. This is after the 52-year old vice president was seen in a photo driving a car in Cambridge,.along her daughter, Aika. That time, It appears that she was driving using an expired professional driver's license.

"I had a speaking engagement in LA during the weekend and decided to fly to Boston right after to help Aika settle in. It was a very hectic two days for both of us as we fixed and cleaned her apartment inside the campus." VP Leni Robredo wrote on her personal Facebook page last June 21, as caption of several photos including the photo in question.

As you can see, VP Robredo is at the driver's seat and Aika is sitting beside her. But while the photo shows that the driver is on the right side (US is left side), it has been clarified that the front camera of a phone was used, and therefore resulted to a mirror image. Nevertheless, netizen Benjie Daisy Contreras had an interesting observation this Wednesday.

"Leni Robredo celebrated her 52nd birthday last April 23, 2017 but she just renewed her driver's license at LTO-NAGA CITY yesterday, July 11, 2017...If Leni Robredo's driver's license had expired last April 23, 2017 how come she was able to drive a car in US last June 21, 2017 with Aika as her passenger." Contreras wrote on his Facebook page.

A series of photos of VP Leni Robredo were shared at the Land Transportation Office – Bicol Facebook page last Tuesday, July 11, when she renewed her driver's license at the LTO Naga District Office. According to the post, the Liberal Party (LP) politician took a queueing number and patiently waited for her turn, just like the rest of their clients.

In a statement, the Cambridge Police Department noted that the "Massachusetts state allows a valid Philippine-issued driver's license, but it does not honor International Driving Permits (IDPs). We are also convinced that the Philippine vice president does not possess an American professional driver's license. Therefore, we will initiate further investigation."
