ABS-CBN to Hire Gilbert Remulla Again After CNN Philippines Cancels Show for Cursing at Twitter?

ABS-CBN is likely to hire Glibert Remulla again after CNN Philippines reportedly axed his four-month old show, 'Political Insider.' The decision allegedly came after the politician- journalist violated the network's internal code of conduct, when he engaged in a word war with netizens on Twitter last month, and cursed repeatedly. Below are Remulla's tweets.

"I never claimed to be anything, you f**king chicken sh*t. Pakilala ka na kung kaya mo. Don't make your fear an excuse." Gilbert Remulla (@GilbertCRemulla) tweeted on July 16, as reply; followed by, “Go hide under the rock. Di ka marunong lumaban ng harap harapan. Wala ka pala. Fu**king yellow.” After a few hours, these two foul tweets were deleted.

The heated argument between Remulla and other netizens apparently started when the former Cavite congressman tweeted, “I have a feeling the president is just amusing himself at how the opposition is wishful thinking about his health.” Apparently, the supporters of the Liberal Party (LP) did not find his tweet amusing and answered back.

It came to a point when singer and LP supporter Leah Navarro reminded Remulla that he used to be an LP supporter. “So you hate Dilaw. That's hypocritical - back in the anti-GMA days you stood with us. Take heart, you're not the only trapo in this photo.” She tweeted, along with a photo of Remulla joining a protest rally against Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Remulla, who started at ABS-CBN as production assistant in the early 90s and then became a reporter, ran as Representative of Second District of Cavite in the 2001 elections, and won. He ran for senator in the 2010 elections under the Nacionalista Party, but lost. In 2013, he ran again for Congress, but this time for 7th District of Cavite, but also lost.

Early last March, CNN Philippines premiered its show “Political Insider,” hosted by Giblert Remulla. Here, he posed as political analyst, and interviewed several local politicians. Meanwhile, several ABS-CBN insiders told PNC that he is now in talks with the Kapamilya network regarding an upcoming public affairs show. As of posting, nothing is final yet.
