Netizen Donates Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Worth P10M to AFP, After Watching President Duterte's SONA

A very generous netizen named Tinton Deveza decided to donate a medical equipment called Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber to the AFP Medical Hospital, one of the hospitals in the country dedicated to all personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and their immediate dependents. And yes, the said equipment is worth more than P10 million.

"Mr. President, I am hereby donating to AFP Medical Facility this state-of-the-art Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber for the use of our soldiers who have been wounded in wars. Dr. Jojo, your doctor at V. Luna Hospital would know how to operate it. (This chamber was worth over P10 Million.)." Tinton Deveza wrote on Facebook, Monday, July 24.

Interestingly, that was the same day that President Rodrigo Duterte delivered his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) last Monday, July 24 at the Batasan Pambansa. According to Mr, Deveza, he heard the president narrating his question to the officers of AFP Medical Hospital, "Do you have a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber in this hospital?."

“Mr. President Duterte, kindly accept this humble donation. My family and I would be overjoyed when you accept it. (May I ask Menchu Abada or Willie Torres na ipa-abot etong donation na eto to Pres. Duterte thru your connections. Btw, the man inside the chamber is not included in the donation.).” The generous netizen added, as caption with 2 photos of the equipment.

As explained at MayoClinic.org, a highly reputable medical website, Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized room or sealed chamber. It is used to treat several medical conditions such as burn, crushing injury, infection of skin or bone that causes tissue death, and many more.

In a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, the air pressure is increased to three times higher than normal air pressure. Under these conditions, the patient's lungs can gather more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure. Therefore, the donated equipment will be a very big help to our dedicated soldiers.
