Pasay Cop Did Not Point His Gun at Teenagers, They Provoked Him, Witness Explains His Side of Story

PO2 Manuel Taytayon, the Pasay City cop who recently went viral after he had an altercation with two teenagers did not start the trouble. This is according to a netizen who claimed he witnessed the incident, saying that the youngsters provoked and bullied the policeman before taking a video of him so that people think they were the victims.

Last Wednesday, a certain Ralph Davenz Altea posted a video on Facebook, showing PO2 Taytayon having a heated argument with him in road rage incident in Maibay, Pasay. According to him, the police honked at him and his brother, who is still a minor so they can step aside. But later, he said that the cop got off his car and pointed his gun at them.

But on a comment to a post showing the viral video by a certain Meli, whom we decided to cover his profile to protect his identity, the complainants are lying. He said he was then accompanying his girlfriend on her way home when he saw the incident. He claimed that PO2 Taytayon did not point their gun at the two brothers, and that they were the arrogant ones.

The self-claimed witness emphasized that the teenagers provoked and bullied the Pasay City cop, and took video of him to increase his anger. He said that the street was narrow so the police honked them so they can step aside. But shortly, the youngsters shouted at the people inside the car, and knocked at the window, where the cop's wife was sitting.

And just like Meli said, PO2 Taytayon's children posted on Facebook, saying that Altea and his brother provoked him to incite anger. So far, they have two major questions: "How could their father point his gun to teenagers when there are many people around?" and "If their father really pointed his gun at them, why didn't they seemed to get scared?"

Apparently, the netizen's comment was also PO2 Manuel Taytayon's statement when GMA News interviewed him. The Pasay cop, who will retire in December next year, said he will sue them of cyberbullying and online libel. This Thursday, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde.ordered him to be relieved from his post.
