Benigno Aquino Appointed as TESDA South Cotabato Head, Mar Roxas Reacts

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has appointed Benigno Aquino as the new head of its provincial office in South Cotabato. Aquino. The namesake of the former president Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III, replaced Engr. Talib Bayabao, who was recently relieved from office after being charged with rebellion.

According to TESDA Deputy Director-General for Operations Alvin Feliciano, Engr. Benigno O. Aquino was the second in command in TESDA-South Cotabato, and is now appointed as OIC provincial director or supervising TESDA specialist in the said province, and is very much fit for the job. Mr. Aquino's office is located in Pilar street, Koronadal City.

On the other hand, Bayabao categorically denied allegations of providing financial support for the Maute group, which started attacking Marawi last May 23. Later, the Koronadal City prosecutor's office dismissed all the charges against him due to lack of probable cause. As of posting, there is no information if he still will be back to his previous job position or not.

Shortly after the news broke out, former DILG Secretary could not help but posted in reaction on social media. At first, he joked that he thought his friend and former boss, Noynoy Aquino is now back in the government. But later, he congratulated Engr. Benigno Aquino for his new postion in TESDA, adding that he believes he will do his new job well.

"Akala ko, pumayag na sya magpa demote! But seriously, I think Engr. Aquino deserves the job. I met him once during the last campaign, and had a very short conversation with him. At kahit alam ko na hindi niya kamag-anak ang ating dating pangulo, I'm sure he will take care of his good name.” Mar Roxas wrote on Facebook last Wednesday, July 5.

However, this Mar Roxas Facebook post has already been deleted for unknown reasons. Nevertheless, a screenshot of the said post is now being shared, and has been receiving mixed reactions. Apparently, some netizens were not happy how Noynoy Aquino led the country. Meanwhile, a few believe that the country would be better if only Roxas had won.
