Trillanes Says He Might Withdraw Criminal Cases vs Mocha Uson After Seeing Her for the First Time

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said he might withdraw the criminal cases he filed against Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson. The soldier turned politician said this in front of Mocha herself during the Senate hearing on fake news on Wednesday, October 4. Interestingly, this is the very first time that the two each other.

"Actually wala na sana akong planong um-attend dito kaso na-miss daw ako ni Miss Mocha. (Actually, I do not intend to attend this hearing I heard Miss Mocha misses me.)" Sen. Trillanes told Mocha Uson in the said hearing, conducted by the Senate public information committee under Senator Grace Poe.

"Ang guwapo niyo pala senator sa personal. Hindi po fake news 'yun, sir (You’re good looking in person. That’s not fake news, sir.)” Mocha Uson replied.

"Konti na lang [bola] at baka i-atras ko na 'yung kaso. Konti na lang bola. (A little sweeter and I might withdraw (the case against you). A little sweeter.) Trillanes said. Their exchange of words immediately drew laughter from the spectators. After the hearing, Mocha approached Trillanes, and requested for the selfie, which the senator agreed.

It can be recalled that Sen. Trillanes IV filed a complaint against Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux "Mocha" Uson at the Office of the Ombudsman last September 22. He was accompanied by his lawyer Reynaldo Robles and Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano.

Among the charges are libel, graft and violation of the code of conduct of public officials. The complaint was based on post shared by Mocha on her Mocha Uson Blog Facebook page of images and links of and links of the alleged documents showing the supposed offshore bank accounts of the Liberal Party (LP) ally senator.

Sen. Trillanes also accused the controversial Duterte supporter of falsification and/or use of falsified documents, violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and violation of Code of Ethics and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. The last case is in line with Mocha’s performance in casinos, despite the fact that she is a public official.
