NAIA Not Included in Top 20 Worst Airports in the World 2017, Also Not in Top 5 Worst Airports in Asia

Good news! The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is not anymore included in the top 20 worst airports in the world. This is according to the annual survey being conducted to travel website The Guide To Sleeping In Airports, released on Sunday, October 15. The said survey was based on overall airport experience, and was voted by their regular customers.

Apparently, NAIA used to be one of the world’s worst airports and even landed on the 5th place last year, October 2016, also based on the survey from the same travel site. That time, the “tanim-bala” was among the main complaints of travelers especially by the OFWs. It should be noted that the survey was conducted during the Aquino administration.

For the record, NAIA earned the ‘world’s worst airport’ title for 3 straight years, from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, it landed in the 4th place. In 2015, it was not included in the top 10 worst airports in the world, but landed 8th worst airport in Asia. But this year, NAIA was not even mentioned in any list of worst airports. Below is the complete list of Top 20 Worst Airports in the World 2017.

Here’s another great news! NAIA is not also included in the top 5 worst airports in Asia in 2017, according to The Guide To Sleeping In Airports. For this year’s list, those included were in South Sudan, two in Nigeria, one in Tanzania (DAR), and one in Ethiopia. It should be noted that all the five of them were also included in the list of world’s worst airports.

Meanwhile, four Philippine airports have again joined the list of the top 25 best airports in Asia for this year, 2017. They are: Iloilo International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Clark International Airport, and Davao International Airport. These local airports were also included in the same list last year, but now they have slightly higher rankings.
