Mayor Inday Sara Duterte Admits She Voted for Mar Roxas in 2010, Explains Photo Campaigning for LP With Dad

A photo during the 2010 election campaign in Davao City surfaced online, and has been a subject of controversy among netizens. Why? Simply because it shows then-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and her daughter, then-Vice Mayor Inday Sara Duterte campaigning for presidential candidate Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino and his running mate, Mar Roxas.

“#ThrowbackThursday: The original dilawans: Rody Duterte and Inday Sara Dutete. #injustigram” Reads the caption of the said photo, wherein Noynoy Aquino can seen be wearing a yellow shirt. Mar Roxas and Inday Sara wearing a blue shirt, while Rody Duterte was wearing a striped shirt. Obviously, the photo was uploaded to mock President Duterte family.

“I've known Mar Roxas, sometime before the 2010 elections, long story short nagparaya siya kay PNoy. Kaya blue ang suot ko hindi yellow kasi si Roxas yun humingi ng tulong for Davao, so ayan na nga ang picture ng circus na parada.” Mayor Inday Sara wrote on her lengthy Facebook post on Saturday, October 14, noting that she voted for Roxas in 2010.

“Of course we all know, there is something off with PNoy. Roxas is intelligent, PNoy among other things, is not. One of those moments sa araw na yan, Roxas said and I quote ‘Pagpa cencyahan niyo na, tulungan niyo ako.’” The presidential daughter added, emphasizing that she never received any single peso in exchange for her help to Mar Roxas.

“2010 elections I voted for Pres Erap and Roxas. Take note: Pres Erap and VP Binay won in Davao City.” Mayor Inday Sara further wrote, saying that she became friends with former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada even before the 1998 elections. She also recalled where she was at the night before Erap left MalacaƱang during the EDSA People Power 2.

According to Mayor Inday Sara, she and another person were in front of the Palace that time, hoping to see Erap and give him moral support. However, she knows that the PSG (Presidential Security Group) would not allow them to enter. So, they stayed there until the next morning and when she woke up, Erap is already riding the barge, leaving MalacaƱang.
