Police Colonel Points Gun at Kuya Kim Atienza’s Face, Dad Rep Lito Atienza Explains Details

A police colonel pointed gun at TV host/celebrity “Kuya” Kim Atienza two weeks ago, according to his father, Buhay Party-list Rep. Lito Atienza. According to the former Manila mayor, the incident took place in Sta. Rosa, Laguna while his son and his friends were cycling along the highway. He explained the details via press conference on Wednesday, October 4.



“Biglang may umovertake na kotse, galit na galit. Binabaan sila, tinutukan sila ng baril sa mukha lahat. Di nga alam kung ano ginawa nila. And ‘yun na, nalagpasan lang daw nila, naovertake nila. Sabi daw sa kanila, ang yayabang nyo ah kaya nagulat sila Kim and they found out na police colonel sa Laguna. Natakot ang mga kasamahan ni Kim,” Rep. Lito Atienza said.

According to the the older Atienza, Kim’s group overtook the car of the police colonel and the latter probably felt that he was insulted. The lawmaker he did not mention the name of the cop, but said that the colonel is assigned in the province. Nevertheless, he condemned the incident, noting that killings in the streets are now rampant in the country.

“Kung sakaling binaril sila si Kim, lalagyan lang sila ng mga droga. We don’t want this to happen to you, any citizen, to be victimized by the culture of death. They are not afraid to kill anymore. You report it mga media. Every day, every night, people are getting killed. Ngayon patayan nang patayan. Di mo na malaman kung drug-related yon o hindi.” He added.



As of posting, Sta. Rosa police have not yet commented on the incident. Rep. Atienza did not mention if his son has already filed a formal complaint against the police colonel or not. Kuya Kim Atienza used to be one of the hosts of ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime.” He still hosts ‘Matanglawin’ also at the Kapamilya network and a segment at TV Patrol.
