Netizens Urge Judy Taguiwalo to Run for Senator in 2019, After CA Rejection as DSWD Secretary

Judy Taguiwalo's appointment as DSWD secretary may have been rejected, but it does mean she does not deserve her post. In fact, four Liberal Party (LP) senators said they have voted for her confirmation, while tons of netizens expressed their disappointment on social media. Apparently, some of them even urged Taguiwalo to run for senator in 2019.

As earlier reported, the Commission on Appointments (CA) rejected Taguiwalo's appointment as DSWD secretary on Wednesday via a majority vote of 13. The voting was done through secret ballots submitted by the 25-member CA, composed of 12 House Representatives and 13 senators, with Senate President Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III as chairman.

Meanwhile, Liberal Party (LP) president, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said that he, and his other party members Franklin Drilon and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, all voted for Taguiwalo’s confirmation. Senators Ralph Recto, Sonny Angara, Loren Legarda and Miguel Zubiri said they also voted the same. So far, no one has yet admitted voting 'No.'

However, a post at Judy Taguiwalo Facebook page revealed some CA members who allegedly denied her confirmation. This includes 11 congressmen and 3 senators – Gregorio Honasan, Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Aquilino 'Koko' Pimentel III, who is only allowed to vote in case of a tie. None of them has released their comment on this.
