Kian Delos Santos Life Story to be Featured on MMK?

The life story (and death) of Kian Lloyd delos Santos is set to be dramatized on ABS-CBN's weekly drama anthology, 'Maalaala Mo Kaya' (MMK), hosted by Charo Santos. As the entire nation already knows, Kian is the 17-year old Grade 11 student who was killed during the Oplan Galugad operation in Barangay 160, Caloocan City last August 16.

According to several Facebook posts, ABS-CBN is now coordinating with Saldy and Lorenza delos Santos (Kian's parents), and asking their permission to feature their son's life story and tragic death on MMK. This is after the 17-year old alleged drug courier was buried on Saturday, August 26, with hundreds of supporters attending his funeral march.

Kian's death caught the attention of the public, especially the critics of President Rordigo Duterte's intensified campaign against illegal drugs. Based on police report, Kian fired first, which prompted the police to fire back. Allegedly found in the scene of the encounter were a .45 caliber gun, 4 fired cartridge cases, and 2 small sachets of suspected shabu.

However, some self-claimed witnesses said that police gave a gun to Kian and told him to run for his life. A CCTV video surfaced, showing 2 policemen dragging a man to a dark alley, near where the victim's body was found. However, the clothes of the man on the video were said to be different from the ones worn by Kian when his lbody was found.

During the Senate hearing on Wednesday , PO1 Jerwin Cruz, and PO1 Jeremias Pereda of Caloocan City Police admitted they were the cops on the video. However, they said that the man they were dragging is their asset, and not Kian. Nevertheless, Cruz, Pereda and other cops were relieved from their posts, pending the ongoing NBI investigation.

As of posting, ABS-CBN has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the supposed Kian delos Santos life story on MMK. Meanwhile, tons of netizens have been suggesting several Kapamilya young stars who they believe can portray the role well. This includes Nash Aguas, Jairus Aquino, Francis Magundayao, Paul Salas, and Zaijian Jaranilla.
