“Finally, this dream project will now become real. Ms. Napoles has been controversial for years. And now that there is a new twist in her life, more people will be interested to know who she really is, and her family as well.” Agnes Pesquerra of Star Cinema, line producer of the Janet Lim Napoles biopic, told reporters, Wednesday, March 2.

“Actually, she have been discussing this movie since 2015 but it was junked because of the then administration. Baka daw kasi mapagkamalan na may kinakampihan kami. But now that Ms. Sharon got the approval of President Duterte, tuloy tuloy na ito.” She added, noting that KC Concepcion is also happy to finally do a movie with her mother.

“KC accepted the role of Jeane Napoles right away, and in fact she was so excited to start na. We will have a story conference sometime next month, and we will choose as who will direct the movie. I cannot give further details yet, but we assure the public that the movie will not be political. We will only present the facts.” Pesquerra said further.

Meanwhile, the said movie is expected to be a box-office considering that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has recently placed Napoles under the government’s Witness Protection Program (WPP). In March 2017, she was acquitted for the crime of serious illegal detention and abduction of her former aide and relative, Benhur Luy.

Napoles, who surrendered on August 28, 2013 to then-President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III in MalacaƱang, is being accused of masterminding the P10-billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam. As a result, then Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, Senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr and Jinggoy Estrada were also jailed.

On the other hand, Jeane Napoles was said to have enjoyed a lavishing lifestyle courtesy of her mother’s questionable business. She was accused of not paying income taxes from 2011 to 2012 for her alleged properties. But in December 2017, the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) Third Division decide to dismiss her P17-million tax evasion case.
