As reported by Sunstar on Thursday, March 22, the police blotter report says that a "Code Black" was announced by ADDU Executive Vice President Jeremy "Bong" Eliab through a radio call at the 5th floor of the Jubilee building on March 20 at around 6:15 pm. “Code Black” means there was a personal threat made inside the school campus.

"Ano problema dito, bakit maraming guard? Hindi naman ako ganun ka criminal. Hindi niyo ba alam na ako ang director ng Comelec? Baka gusto niyo hindi bigyan ng firearms exemption ang DASIA (Davao Security and Investigation Agency, Inc.)?” Remlani (or Remlane) Tambuang was quoted as saying when the university guards arrived.

Hindi ‘nyo ba alam na pamilya kami ng mga lawyer at pamilya din kami ng mga killer (Don’t you know that we are a family of lawyers and we are also a family of killers)?” he allegedly added. Tambuang was said to be with his sister, Walina Tambuang, and one bodyguard at the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) office at that time.

Also on Thursday, ADDU university president Father Joel E. Tabora SJ, released a statement on the issue, adding that the university will sue Remlani Tambuang for threatening the professor who gave low grades to his son, and is now coordinating with their lawyers. He emphasized that the university is not intimidated with any kind of threat.

When a parent accompanied by relatives and body guards comes in brandishing statements like “We are family of lawyers and killers!” or “We can take down this school!” — These are statements the ADDU as a University can only take very seriously as they threaten the safety and security of its personnel.” Tabora wrote on Facebook.

“Especially when the said public official is also a member of the Philippine Bar where public displays of arrogant intimidation such as this one, rightfully deserve sanctions as they run contrary to their Lawyer’s Oath.” He added, and clarified that the Comelec Davaoofficial had no gun when he entered the university and threatened the professor.
