Joma Sison Reveals Details of ‘Relationship” Between Ninoy Aquino and CCP, NPA

Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison has been vocal in being friends with the late, former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. In an interview with him by Lisandro Claudio for GMA News TV on July 24, 2010, he explained the details of the “relationship” between Ninoy and the CCP, and its armed group, New People's Army (NPA).

“There was no formal alliance between the CPP-NPA and Ninoy Aquino. By absence of formal alliance, I mean that there was no written instrument of alliance (document) and there was no organizational form to embody the alliance. But there was an informal and objective alliance.” Joma Sison said when asked if there was an alliance between Ninoy and the CPP-NPA.

“The CPP and NPA and Ninoy were informal and practical cooperators against the Marcos regime from late 1968 onwards up to his assassination by the military minions of Marcos and further on with his wife as ally after his assassination.” He added, noting that he became friends with Ninoy in late 1967 through his then-Senate aide Raul Roco.

“Ninoy proposed that the two of us would make a hunger strike against the Marcos regime and make demands for reforms. I thanked Ninoy for the proposal but I declined because at that time I was extremely busy with labor, peasant and youth mass organizing.” Sison said on his first meeting with Ninoy where the latter’s wife, Cory served them coffee.

“I did not have any direct contact with Ninoy Aquino regarding any material support from him. I can only cite his public statements directly or indirecttly supportive of the people’s resistance to Marcos. I cannot offer to you anyone who might have some direct personal knowledge regarding any material support from Aquino.” The CPP founder said further.

As we all know, Ninoy was assassinated at the Manila International Airport on August 21, 1983 upon returning from his self-imposed exile in the US. This led to the 1986 People Power Revolution, and his wife Cory replaced Marcos. Meanwhile, today, Monday, November 27, is Ninoy’s 85th birthday. His son, former President Noynoy Aquino greeted him on Twitter, along with their family picture.

Si Dante founder ng NPA was Aide of Benigno and put into Hacienda Luisita as a Guard because Marcos took the Hacienda from The Cojuanco Family forcefuly and distribute it to his Brother in-law. Sison was put by Marcos in there.. Dante want wealth so he joined Sison and Betray Benigno. That why those soldier who killed Benigno who he think was his trusted aide due to Dante.
