Rep. Alejano told reporters on Friday, November 3.
Kawawa naman sila,” he added.
When asked if his idea was inspired by the controversial “hollow blocks throwing threat” statement made by newly appointed Presidential spokesman Harry Roque, Rep. Alejano smiled and said, “No, nagkataon lang.
It can be recalled that in a recent interview with Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson, Roque said he would throw not only stones but hollow blocks to retaliate against the critics of President Rodrigo Duterte. He later clarified that this was not a threat but rather an "assurance" to Duterte supporters that he would defend the President.
In his first press conference as Presidential spokesman, Pia Ranada of Rappler asked Roque about the alleged hollow blocks threat. “You can take it literally or figuratively. But what I meant was, since I believe in the free marketplace of ideas, stones hurled are welcomed, but expect to have bigger stones thrown back at you.” He replied.
