"I cannot thank Pope Francis enough for his thoughtfulness. I'm deeply, deeply touched by the Pope's gesture. This gift will constantly remind me that, despite the political persecution I am experiencing right now at the hands of a vengeful President, I should keep the faith and fight tirelessly for the welfare of the Filipino people," Sen. de Lima said.
According to De Lima, the unnamed PNP Chaplain visited her on her cell last November 22, and personally handed the rosary gift to her, along with a message coursed through the Papal Nuncio., The jailed senator added that according to the chaplain, Pope Francis was able to read her letter and that the pontiff assured that he is praying for her.
It can be recalled that last August, more than a week before her 58th birthday, Sen. De Lima said she wrote a letter to Pope Francis, requesting him to offer a prayer for her and Filipinos whom she said as suffering from abuses and victims of so-called extra-judicial killings (EJKs) related to illegal drugs under the Duterte administration.
But last Tuesday, it was learned that the rosary gift from Pope Francis was intended for a certain Lilac de Lima (not related to Sen. de Lima). This is after her son said he received a letter from Vatican, saying that Pope Francis sent a rosary for her 67-year old mother, who has been at the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City for 25 years.
“It was very unfortunate that it happened. I am very sorry for my error, especially to Sen. de Lima and to the real recipient of the rosary gift.” The PNP Chaplain, who did not reveal his name told reporters, adding that after reviewing the list of names of prisoners who should receive rosary gifts from Pope Francis, he mistakenly read “Lilac” as “Leila.”

DeleteWell, in that case i suppose then that then most frail senator wiil just have to return the rosary to its rightful owner and just ask a replica or atleast a similar one from Soc Villegas and have Agnes Callamard bless it..
ReplyDeleteahahahahahahahaahah you`re right. Hohohohohho let Callamard bless the fake rosary that can be bought in Quiapo sa mga vendors.
ReplyDeleteVery well said!
DeleteLeila De halimaw************ when are you going to die ?
ReplyDeleteibalik pa kaya ni delima yung rosary? hmmmm i doubt
ReplyDeleteWOW MALI? Style niyo bulok! Another publicity stunt to draw attention for the dirty old woman in jail... who's that PNP chaplain?
