5 Reasons Why Duterte Diehard Supporters Will Always Remain Loyal to President Duterte No Matter What

Whether the world likes it or not, Duterte Diehard Supporters (DDS) will remain loyal to President Rodrigo Duterte even after he finishes his term in 2022. And yes, Duterte supporters will always be there for him no matter what happens. But the question is why. Below are the observations of a political analyst who has been around for over 30 years.



#1 Most of them believe that Duterte is the last hope of the Philippines

Filipinos are sick and tired of corruption, and have only little trust to the police. Since the campaign, Duterte has been throwing bad words against corrupt officials and express his willingness to stop illegal drugs to the point that he wants drug pushers killed. So far, no presidential candidate has ever done that, and so he became the last hope of the country.

#2 Most of them don’t care about Duterte’s behavior and his past

Duterte is known for his profane language, hard-hitting jokes, and being a womanizer. But while some elites and conservatives hate him for that, ordinary people love him more because they see him as among them. They don’t care about Duterte’s past and behavior; and all they care is that he seems to have the guts to change the country for the better.

#3 Most of them think that all anti-Duterte are LP supporters

Unfortunately for supporters of the Liberal Party (LP), many ordinary Filipinos started to realize that the Cory Magic did not work and the spirit of the 1986 EDSA People Power is dead. Fortunately for the Marcoses, Duterte is helping to “correct” history. Therefore, the DDS immediately conclude that if you are anti-Duterte, you are Dilawan. No more, no less.

#4 Most of them are OFWs and don’t care about fake news

Most Duterte supporters are OFWs, who only depend on social media when it comes to news. But because they don’t anymore trust the mainstream media, they rely on every news they see and don’t care if it is real or not. For them, any positive news about Duterte is real even if it is fake news, and any negative news about him is fake even it is real.

#5 Most of them are Facebook free data users and don’t know how to use Google

Thanks to Facebook free data service, pro-Duterte supporters are somehow able to know to read news. But because the service is limited, most of them can only read the headlines and easily believe them and share them without reading the entire content. Also, many of them don’t even know how to use Google and cannot verify if the news is real or not.
