‘Pinoy Ako Blog’ Blogger Jover Laurio’s Boyfriend is Not a Duterte Supporter, Close Relative Says

Last Sunday, November 19, Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) published a report on its official website and newspaper titled, “The Surpise? Jover Laurio’s Boyfriend is a Duterte Supporter.” However, a netizen who claimed being a cousin of Jover’s boyfriend said that the latter is not and never a Duterte supporter, and did not even vote Duterte for president.

“Jover, who said she’s in her 30s, admitted she has a boyfriend—and not just any other BF because, dig this, he voted for Duterte and continues to support the President. “We don’t talk politics,” Jover explained how they get along. The funny thing is, he didn’t know PAB (Pinoy Ako Blog) is Jover until she told him.” A statement reads at the Inquirer news report.

However, the said cousin of Jover’s boyfriend sent a message to us here at Philippine News Courier, and categorically denied it. According to her (who requested anonymity), Jover’s boyfriend hate Duterte because of his cursing habit, and that he thinks Duterte is not fit for president. Nevertheless, he is also not in favor of Mar Roxas for the position.

“Ang totoo po kasi, ayaw na ayaw ni Kuya kay Duterte kasi palamura daw ito at hindi bagay maging president. Ayaw nya din po kay Roxas kasi mahilig daw ito mag-Epal. Di po namin sure kung sino binoto nya, basta sure kami na hindi si Duterte o si Roxas.” The netizen said, noting that Jover’s boyfriend did not vote for Duterte or Roxas for president.

As we all know, RJ Nieto, aka Thinking Pinoy exposed Jover Laurio (real name, Maria Josephina Vergina Laurio) last month as the blogger behind PAB, a blog created to criticize President Duterte and to defend the Liberal Party (LP). Earlier, he appeared in a Senate hearing and claimed that a certain Cocoy Dayao could be the owner of PAB.

When PAB was still anonymous, pro-LP Facebook page Silent No More posted the names of seven senators who allegedly did not sign a Senate resolution demanding a stop to the killing of minors in the government’s war against illegal drugs. The seven senators protested, which led to a Senate hearing on the prevalence of fake news on social media.
