Kasi hindi ako marunong mamulitika eh,” Pacquiao said, who landed on the 7th spot in the 2016 elections and garnered slightly more than 16 million votes.
According to him, the rich people know the problems of the poor. However, it’s still the ones who have experienced poverty who are in a better position to help the poor.
As we all know, Sen. Pacquiao was born in a very poor family. But because of his skills in boxing, he only eight-division world champion in the history won eleven major world titles. He lost in congressional bid in 2007, but won in 2010 the lone district of Sarangani and was reelected in 2013. He is now considered as an ally of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Meanwhile, Senator Risa Hontiveros has somehow reacted on Pacquiao’s statement. And although the Liberal Party (LP) ally senator did not mention his name on her Facebook post, but it appears that she is contradicting his statements. According to her, a person does not need to be born poor to help the poor. Just like Pacquiao, her term will also end in 2022.
She wrote, but immediately deleted it after she was bashed.
