“Well, there are standards to follow. If you fall short of that standard, I’m sorry. We may be friends, you might be a supporter of mine, but there are rules to be followed and boundaries to honor.… And I do not allow corruption to creep in at least during my term. Kung nandiyan ka, sorry.” President Duterte tells Inquirer news reporter Allan Nawal.

“May sinabi po kayo na may susunod pa na undersecretaries. Ilan pa po sila? And pwede po nating malaman kung anong agencies, sir? (You earlier said that there are undersecretaries who will follow. How many are them? And can you name the agencies they belong?)" Nawal, who is from Davao asked the president as a follow-up question.

“Hindi, bigyan na lang kita ng listahan tapos ikaw na mamili kung sino patalsikin. Masyado kang apurado pero sige lang. I will leave the note to the police here. Give it to him. Mamili ka na. Rules of inclusion. ‘Yung maiwan na hindi mo i-cross, ‘yun ang patalsikin natin.” President Duterte replied, which drew laughter from the crowd.

(No, I’ll just give you the list then you choose among them who I will fire. You’re very impatient but it’s fine. I will leave the note to the police here. Give it to him. You choose. Rules of inclusion. The names you do not put a cross, I will fire them.)

On the same event, President Duterte said that he is putting Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno on notice and that he is now her enemy. “And you have to be out of the Supreme Court. I will see to it that after that then I’ll request the Congress, go into the impeachment right away.” The angry president said.
