Vice Ganda Slams Mocha Girls for Calling Enchong Dee “Bakla” Over Joke on Mocha’s Mayon Mistake

Vice Ganda could not help but join the tons of netizens who slammed Mocha Girls over their derogatory comments against actor Enchong Dee. The controversial sexy dance group was then defending Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson, who was heavily criticized for mistakenly saying that Mayon Volcano is in Naga, instead of Albay.

“Makauwi na nga sa probinsya ko. Balita ko, may bago kaming bulkan. (I will go to home to my province. I heard we have a new volcano.)” Enchong Dee tweeted last Wednesday. There are also other celebrities who reacted on Mocha’s mistake, such as Lea Salonga and Ethel Booba. However, the Mocha Girls reacted against Dee only.

“Ano ang tawag mo sa lalaking nangbubully ng babae? Bakla o supot? (What do you call a man who bullies a woman? Gay or uncircumcised?” Mocha Girls wrote on their Facebook page on Thursday, adding that Enchong Dee still made fun of Mocha’s mistake despite the latter’s public apology. Mocha decided to return the award.

“Ganito po kasi ang nangyari, nagkamali si ate mocha sa fb live niya na sinabi niya na ang mayon volcano ay nasa naga, humingi na sya ng sorry sa pgkakamali nya pero ang mga bashers binully pa rin sya kasama na dyan si enchong. Kaya yan po ang tanong namin,” they added. Nevertheless, they did not slam Ethel Booba, who also joked about it.

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda said he is offended by Mocha Girls’ derogatory comment against Enchong. According to the “It’s Showtime” host, it is very inappropriate to label gays as bullies. In addition, he said Mocha Girls should not be sensitive with jokes, considering that the sexy dance group also crack jokes on their public performances.



“Porke’t nag joke lang, bakla na agad? Dapat di sila mag-inarte kasi sila nagjo-joke din sa audience nila. Isa pa, kung pambu-bully ang tingin nila sa ginawa ni Enchong, ano tawag nila sa ginawa nila? Kahit saan dalhin, mas mabigat yung sinabi nila kesa sa biro ni Enchong.” Vice Ganda told showbiz reporters in an ambush interview on Friday.
