Sen Bam Aquino Blames "Ang Probinsyano" Over Lito Lapid’s Slot in 2019 Elections Magic 12 Survey

Senator Bam Aquino seems to be not a fan of FPJ’s “Ang Probinsyano,” the famous action-drama TV series at ABS-CBN. This is after he said he thinks that the Kapamilya network should have not included veteran action star and former senator Lito Lapid in the cast. Incidentally, Lapid was included in the two recent surveys for the 2019 senatorial race.

“Nirerespeto naman natin ang resulta ng kahit anong survey. Kaya lang, sa tingin ko may mga ilang pumasok sa Magic 12 kahit di naman dapat. Napansin ko kasi, parang bumabalik tayo sa dati na pag laging nakikita ng publiko, akala nila pwede na. “ Sen. Bam Aquino told reporters when asked about his opinion on the result of the SWS and Laylo surveys.

(We respect the result of the survey. But then, I think that there are those who were in the Magic 12 that should not be there. I noticed that we are now going back to the past where people think that candidates whom they always see are already deserving.)

And although he did not mention who he is referring to, Sen. Aquino said that a TV network should have not included politicians and possible senatorial candidates in the 2019 elections. Unfortunate for the Liberal Party (LP) senator, he and his party mates landed far below in both surveys, which were both led by Senator Grace Poe.

Also among those who entered the Top 12 in both surveys are Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, senators Sonny Angara, Cynthia Villar, Nancy Binay, JV Ejercito, former senators Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, Pia Cayetano and Jinggoy Estrada, and presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte.

Lapid, 62, is among the cast of “Ang Probinsyano” Book 2, which started last May. He plays the role of Romulo Dumaguit alias “Leon,” the commander of the rebel group Pulang Araw. He rose to fame as an action star, and was elected as vice governor of Pampanga in 1992. He became governor in 1995, and senator for 2 terms (2004-2016).
