Sen Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan cannot help but react when President Rodrgio Duterte made a mistake in naming Gabby Concepcion as the chairman of ABS-CBN, instead of Gabby Lopez. The president’s bloopers happened during his speech at at 120th anniversary celebration of the Department of Justice (DOJ) last Tuesday, September 26. Watch video below.



“Sino naka-p***** *** ninyong lahat. Ikaw? Gabby Concepcion, mukha kang pera, p****** *** ka. Eh totoo man,” President Duterte said in his speech in the said event held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). Knowing that the president made a mistake for cursing at Gabby Concepcion instead of Gabby Lopez, the audience laughed.

President Duterte was then recalling the 2016 election campaign when ABS-CBN did not air his political ad despite paying the agreed amount. Shortly, the president probably realized his error, and mentioned the name of ABS-CBN Chairman Gabby Lopez as he continues to criticize the Kapamilya network, and also mentioned Philippine Daily Inquirer.

“Makinig ka, Gabby Lopez: Nag-place ako ng advertisement. Tinanggap ninyo ‘yung pera kong two million para kasi wala akong advertisement. Tanggap nang tanggap kasi kayo ng pera in the name of greed. Tanggap ng pera tapos kung makasalita kayo – pati ’yung Inquirer.” The tough-talking president added, and accused them of slanting news reports.

Nevertheless, President Duterte in the same event mentioned that he is very grateful to Sen Kiko Pangilinan, recalling the time when his daughter Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte was still in grade school. He said that as a birthday gift to her, he requested the senator to set a meeting with his wife, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, and the requested was granted.



Incidentally, Gabby Concepcion is Sharon’s ex-husband. They have a daughter, actress KC Concepion. And although it seems awkward for the Liberal Party president to comment on President Duterte’s mistake, Sen. Pangilinan acknowledged the president’s gesture in mentioning the meeting of Sharon Cuneta and Inday Sara when the latter was still young.



“Syempre, nagpapasalamat tayo sa pangulo at hindi nya nakakalimutan yun kahit maliit na bagay lang. Maaaring magkaiba kami ng pananaw sa ilang bagay lalo na sa pulitika, pero hindi naman kami magkagalit ng personal. At gaya nya, kaibigan din ang turing ko sa kanya. Yung maling pagtawag nya kay Gabby, napangiti lang ako.” He said in an ambush interview.
