Alden Richards Loses TV Commercial Projects After Starring in GMA-7 Martial Law Documentary ‘Álaala’

Alden Richards lost various product endorsement projects in the future, including TV commercials This is after he will star in ‘Álaala,’ a Martial Law documentary short film, which will be aired at GMA-7 this Sunday, September 17, just four days before the 45th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law by the late president Ferdinand Marcos.

Directed by Adolf Alix, Jr., and produced by GMA News and Public Affairs, Alden Richards will portray the life story of Bonifacio “Boni” Ilagan - a Palanca awardee, a multi-awarded writer, and is the vice chairperson of Samahan ng mga Ex-Detainees Laban sa Detensyon at Aresto (SELDA), a group for former political detainees.

Álaala’ was written by Boni Ilagan himself, based on his recollection during his captivity as a human rights activist during the Martial Law era. Also included in the cast are Gina Alajar, Bianca Umali and Rocco Nacino. This GMA Martial Law special will be aired at 10:30 pm via Sunday Night Box Office (SNBO), and is Alden’s comeback to drama roles.

But while tons of Alden fans (including the fans of Aldub, the phenomenal love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza) will surely enjoy watching the actor in a very dramatic role, Marcos supporters will feel the opposite. Apparently, not all Filipinos who experienced Martial Law agree that it is one of the darkest chapters in Philippine history.

“This is actually the reason why our clients decided to withdraw their plans to get Alden’s services despite knowing that he is one of the most trusted product endorsers in town today. And yes, our business will also be affected.” FAB advertising agency manager Venie Ilagan said, without mentioning how many projects are supposedly set for Alden.

“We should understand Filipinos today are divided when it comes to the Martial Law issue. Unlike before, many of us are not hesitant to voice out their thoughts on the benefits of Martial Law. Considering the fact that this issue is getting more controversial, our clients felt that Alden is not the right ambassador for their products.” She added.

PART 1 - A Similar Pattern, Template by the Yellows

Cover-up your misdeeds by focusing away from you and dragging others who have nothing to do with issues you're facing.
    Let's go back to history:

Bomb Plaza Miranda, your colleagues, blame Marcos, get recognized as the defender of freedom

Organize a new cadre of rebellious army with a Communist ideology, cleanse the ranks of the old guard. Blame the military

Collaborate with the enemies of the State, try to overthrow the legitimate government. Leads to Martial Law, get arrested. Never deny involvement with the Left but blame Marcos for suppressing democracy

Gets tried and convicted for treason and sentenced. Never presented evidence to prove innocence and does not rebut the crimes he was accused of. Blame Marcos as a dictator, become posterboy for democracy

Ask for permission to get heart surgery abroad, Marcos agrees, ensuring that at least in the US he is far from being assasinated and blamed on Marcos.
Then goes on speaking tour around the US accusing Marcos of being an evil dictator. Become posterboy for democracy

Returns to the Philippines, gets felled by an assasin's bullet, family blames Marcos.

Two Aquino administrations later, the masterminds still have not been identified, no effort to investigate so unlike the effort to villify and convict their political enemies like Corona.
    Still wants to blame Marcos

Return sequestered properties to cronies without debt repayment, which was the reason those were requested. Blame Marcos for sequestration.

Use tens of millions of dollars Philippine government funds to search for Marcos millions abroad. Conspire with an ambitious State Attorney unknown at that time, Rudy Guiliani (who would later become Mayor of NYC) and with Langley Virginia. File a RICO Case and lose the case and millions of dollars in attorney fees. Blame Marcos for defrauding the country. (By the way, the evidences presented by the US DOJ, FBI analysis and Swiss Bank Officials confirm it was not ill-gotten wealth and the account was opened before Marcos was a politician. Yes, I was there during the trials, so go debate me.)

    To be continued................
