Cop Who Fought in Marawi Had Bullet Shattered Instead of Entering Into His Ankle

Meet Police Officer 3 Isah Sangcad from the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao – Regional Public Safety Battalion (ARMM-RPSB). His ankle was hit by a bullet while fighting against the terrorist Maute group in Marawi City. But instead of entering into his bone, the bullet shattered, and he is now being dubbed as "the man who defied science."

According to a report by Raffy Tima at GMA's '24 Oras' this Friday, June 16, PO3 Sangcad said the doctor was shocked when he saw his X-ray. He said the doctor learned the bullet that hit his ankle broke into several pieces destroyed instead of entering his bone. The 'Pinoy Robocop' added that he was told that his bone might be made of stainless steel.

But that's not all. Sangcad said another bullet hit his hand. However, it did not penetrate into his flesh. Instead, it only got stuck in his palm. His colleagues could not also believe when they learned about it. And because the doctor could not give any scientific explanation on what happened, the ARMM police said he believes it was a miracle from Allah.

Based on records, Sangcad has already served as a police for more than 20 years. During the first week of the Marawi crisis, he was the lead scout of the Philippine Army that entered the Islamic City, where the Maute group made the attack. And although he still needs some rest, he promised to back to war once the doctor allowed him to do so.

In related news, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla announced in a press conference this Friday that Maute group has already weakened, and is not already capable of launching massive attacks. However, he noted that some might have already left Marawi, and could now be in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro.

Nevertheless, Padilla emphasized that authorities is the said cities are now very strict in allowing anyone to enter, and are searching for suspicious individuals who might attempt to sow some confusion or pose terror. This was his response to Iligan Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz, who said that some members of Maute group were already inside his city.
