Watch: Anakbayan Leader Shows Photo of President Duterte as Jesus Christ, CBCP Reacts (Video)

A leader of the militant group Anakbayan is now under fire after he recently showed a photo of President Rodrigo Duterte’s face embedded to a portrait of Jesus Christ. And while pro-Duterte supporters got furious about it, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) also criticized Anakbayan. Watch the video below very closely.

Anakbayan Secretary General Einstein Recedes said in a press conference, Thursday, February 8.

(There is now a new religion in our country, this is ‘Iglesia ni Digong,’ wherein the God the Father the most powerful of them all is Tatay Digong, and is being spread by false prophet Mocha Uson…)

Recedes also labeled Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre III, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar and Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque as the other ‘false prophets who spread the doctrines’ of worshipping Duterte. He also dubbed the DDS (Duterte Diehard Supporter) as a huge cult that criticize staunch critics of the president.

To fellow Filipinos who are using their minds and will not just follow a false god and dictator, we will fight and walk out.)” the Anakbayan leader said further, inviting everyone to join the anti-Duterte rally on February 23.

Meanwhile, CBCP president and Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles said it respects the rights of everyone and the freedom of speech. However, he emphasized that no one should use the image of Jesus Christ to mock any personality, adding that it is against the doctrine of Catholics. He also called out Catholics to remain vigilant on current issues.

Valles said in a statement, Friday, February 9.
