Trillanes Questions Paolo Duterte's Ex-Wife’s Expensive Valentino Garavani Sandals

Lovelie Sangkola Sumera, Paolo Duterte’s former wife shows off her new pair of expensive sandals on her official Instagram account, just in time for Valentine’s Day. But when Senator Antonio Trillanes IV saw it, he questioned how Lovelie was able to buy such luxury sandal, which reportedly costs approximately P56,000 on a regular price.

“Your eyes are the eyes of a woman in love” Reads the print at the heart-shape at the insole of the Valentino Garavani “L’amour” sandal, which heels are made of leather. Lovelie, who is the mother of Isabelle, Omar and Rigo, is successful businesswoman, and people who know her know that she can afford to buy such expensive pair of sandals.

Paolo and Lovelie got married in 1990, but separated in 2005. Their divorce was finalized in 2006, and Lovelie married a certain RJ Sumera. Her family hails from Tausug descent, and they own several ukay-ukay businesses in Mindanao. On the other hand, Paolo Duterte married longtime girlfriend January Navares on December 15, 2010.

Meanwhile, in an ambush interview with reporters this Saturday, Sen. Trillanes said he knows that Paolo and Lovelie are separated. However, the Liberal Party (LP) ally senator noted that Lovelie could have benefitted from the alleged ill-gotten wealth of President Rodrigo Duterte, Paolo’s father, and Paolo’s ex-wife should be investigated, too.

“Alam kong matagal na silang hiwalay, pero malay natin, baka nakinabang din sa mga ninakaw ni Duterte nung sila pa ni Paolo. Tapos, baka yun din ang ginamit nya sa pagpapatayo ng mga negosyo nya. Alam nyo, kung gusto nila akong tumigil sa pagdududa, pirmahan na nung mama sa Malakanyang yung waiver.” Trillanes said.

Trillanes has been accusing the president of having P2.4 billion in his bank accounts since the last part of the 2016 election campaign period. Recently, he urged the Senate committee on banks to probe the Dutertes. This is despite the fact that AMLC has repeatedly denied providing the Ombudsman the documents that would prove his claim.
