Natakot? Sen Kiko Pangilinan Avoided Robin Padilla During Sharon-Robin Reunion Movie Promotion

Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla are back together in the Star Cinema movie 'Unexpectedly Yours,' directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. The film was released last Wednesday, November 29. But while fans have long to watch this Sharon-Robin reunion movie, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Sharon’s husband seems to be not comfortable.

'Unexpectedly Yours’ features Sharon as an annulled woman who is about to lose her job, and Robin as a bachelor. Both of them were batchmates in high school, 35 years ago. Interestingly, this is their fourth movie together. Their earlier movies were “Maging Sino Ka Man” (1991), “’Di Na Natuto” (1993), and “Pagdating ng Panahon (2001), 16 years ago.

This romantic-comedy movie also includes Julia Baretto as Sharon’s daughter, and Joshua Garcia as Robin’s nephew. It was was graded "A" by the Cinema Evaluation Board of the Philippines, and earned P14 million on its first day. But while the film also attracted the millienials especially on the ‘kilig’ and dramatic scenes, it earned mixed reviews.

Meanwhile, in an earlier interview, Robin Padilla admitted that he initially refused to have his hair cut short and his mustache shaved for the movie, saying that they were symbols of his being a revolutionary. On the other hand, some sources say that Liberal Party (LP) president Sen. Kiko Pangilinan avoided meeting Robin, a staunch supporter of President Duterte.

“Watched 'Unexpectedly Yours!' with the 3 chikitings (Kc was out of the country) while their Mama had to work and promote the movie. A truly funny, heartwarming movie! Please don't miss it!” Sen. Pangilian tweeted last Friday, as caption of a photo of him with their two daughters, Frankie and Miel, and adopted son, Miguel, inside a movie house.

But according to our sources, Sen. Kiko was supposed to accompany Sharon while the latter will promote the movie with Robin. However, the Opposition senator was said to have backed out in the last minute. Sharon was said to have joked to her husband that he and Robin might end up in a debate about RevGov. Sen. Kiko’s face turned red and walked away.
