Watch: Priest Throws Pail of Holy Water During Mass, Bathe Parishioners (Video)

A Catholic priest is now going viral for unconventional way of blessing people. Usually, a priest sprinkle holy water using an aspergillum. But on a viral video, a priest threw a pail of holy water to the church goers, using a dipper (tabo in Tagalaog). As expected, the event gained mixed reactions from netizens, especially for the non-Catholics. Watch video below and be the judge.

The 1.11-minute video, which was uploaded at Sin Censura Noticias, a Spanish Facebook page last December 12, has now nearly 6 million views and more than 85,000 Shares. As you can see, there is a huge Crucifix near the altar, suggesting that the priest is Catholic. The priest appears to be speaking in Spanish, but there was no information as when and where the mass was held.

The name of the priest is not also known, but a Spanish commenter called him as a certain Father Ramon. And as you can also see, the parishioners were surprised when he started throwing holy water from the pail. The priest threw as far as he can, making sure that all of them gets wet. It can be assumed that the pail can hold around 5 gallons of water.

Judging from the video, the parishioners appear to enjoy what the priest is doing as they scream in excitement. Nevertheless, many netizens criticized him for his way of blessing his parishioners. Some Catholics say that it is not the proper way of blessing people with holy water, while some said that the priest was rude, especially that the water used could have gotten from the bathroom.

On the other hand, many non-Catholics said that holy water is useless, and is not necessary. According to them, it would be better if the priest instead had taught people how to be good citizens, and to repent from their sins. But for us here at Philippine News Courier, we are not against any belief or practice of religion. We strongly believe that we should respect each other, no more, no less.
