12 Priests to be Reassigned After Duterte Threatened to Expose Church Scandals

At least twelve Filipino priests will be reassigned in various provinces and cities this coming July, an official of Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) confirmed Monday, June 18. This is after President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to expose the alleged scandals and corruption inside the Catholic Church in the country.

Sister Patricia Fox Arrested in 2013 for Investigating Hacienda Luisita, CBCP Confirms

Sister Patricia Fox was arrested in 2013 for investigating land redistribution in Hacienda Luisita, a huge sugar estate owned by the family of then-President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. The government forces have rescued Catholic priest, Father Teresito "Chito" Suganub from the hands of the terrorist Maute group on Saturday, September 16, 2017. This is according to Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza, who first made the announcement via his Facebook page on Sunday morning.

CBCP Warns Public on SWS Survey Resulting to President Duterte's Highest Net Satisfaction Rating

President Rodrigo Duterte has reached his highest net satisfaction rating so far, one year after he got elected. This is according to the latest Social Weather Station (SWS) survey, released this Friday, July 7. However, it appears that the CBCP (Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines) is not satisfied with the result, and has warned the public.

CBCP 'Agrees' on Alleged Maute Offer to Release Hostage Priest in Exchange of Maute Parents

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) apparently agrees with reports saying that the Maute Group allegedly offered the release of hostage priest, Fr. Chito Suganob in exchange for the freedom of the Maute parents. The said priest was abducted on May 24, along with some churchgoers in St. Mary's Cathedral in Marawi City.
