DOJ Starts Probing Cyber Libel Complaint vs Rappler’s Fake News

The Department of Justice (DOJ) began on Monday its preliminary investigation into a cyber libel complaint against news website Rappler, its executives and columnist, filed by businessman Wilfredo Keng. The complaint stemmed from a fake news published by Rappler on May 28, 2012, entitled “CJ using SUVs of 'controversial' businessmen.”

Recently, US-based human rights watchdog Freedom House released a study about the so-called keyboard army allegedly being funded by the Duterte administration.
